Hace algunas semanas tuve un fin de semana largo en el cual pude visitar varios lugares. Hice este recorrido en coche porque es la manera más cómoda ya que las distancias son relativamente cortas. El "road trip" fue todo un éxito y pude conocer lugares preciosos. Fue la combinación perfecta entre ciudad y pueblo mágico, así que continua leyendo para ver a dónde fue y qué hice.

A few weeks ago I had a long weekend in which I was able to visit several places. I realized the best way to visit this places is by car and besides, who says no to a roadtrip? I had a great time visiting this really pretty places. They were the perfect combo: little towns but also a modern city. Keep reading to see where I went and my advise on it.
Primera parada/ First stop
Mi primera parada de camino a Querétaro fue "Cadereyta" para ver el invernadero "Schomoll" que siembra y produce miles de suculentas y cactáceas (mis favoritas). Cadereyta es un pueblo pequeñito y parece un tanto abandonado, pero al llegar al invernadero verdaderamente me sentía en Disney. Cabe mencionar que soy amante de las suculentas y está demás decir que mi parte favorita fue el área de suculentas comenzando a crecer. Había miles de ellas, todo tipo de tamaño, color y sabor. Al final está el área donde venden todo tipo de suculentas ó arreglos con varias cactáceas. (y tuve la suerte de que me regalaran una)
El lugar es súper interesante, lleva 90 años dedicándose a esto por lo que claramente: son expertos. Es una parada rápida en el camino que vale mucho la pena.

My first stop from Mexico City to Queretaro was "Cadereyta" to visit the "Schomoll" greenhouse which only plants and raises succulents and cacti (my all time favs). Cadereyta is a really small town that may seem a little abandoned but the greenhouse made me feel like I was in Disney. I'd never seen so many baby succulents in one place, I couldn't stand my excitement.
The place is really interesting, it's 90 years old and of course the people that work there are absolutely experts. It's a really quick place to visit but totally worth it, especially if you're a cacti lover like me.
Parada a comer / Food pit stop
Para comer fuí a la Finca Sala Vivé que es una finca vitivinícola (que produce y vende vinos). Tienen un sin fin de vinos para todos los gustos, de todo tipo, color, sabor y un gran detalle: precio. Es un lugar ideal para ir a comer ya que tienen una terraza con gran variedad de comida a escoger ó también se puede ir a disfrutar del recorrido y al final tomarse una copa en la terraza. Yo recomiendo más la segunda opción ya que la comida no me pareció nada del otro mundo, y creo que uno disfruta más platicar con los expertos en vinos lo que se puede degustar mientras se recorre la finca. Los vinos son un tema muy interesante pero a la vez muy complejo por lo que tomar este recorrido es cultura general pura.

When it was time for lunch we went to "Finca Sala Vivé" a place fully dedicated to wine production. You can take tours where they explain you everything about wines, from production to the different types of wine that exist. There is a shop where you can buy the different types of wine this place produces there's a huge variety of types and prices. It also has a very nice sort of food court with many different food stands, but I do have to say I found the food to be really bad, so I encourage you to just grab a glass of wine, chat a bit about the different types and enjoy the tour instead of going to eat to this specific place.
Llegando a Querétaro / Finally in Queretaro
Querétaro es una ciudad en crecimiento por lo que cada vez hay más plazas, restaurantes y lugares a donde ir. Me impresionó ver el gran cambio que tuvo desde la última vez que estuve aquí. Decidimos ir a cenar y hacer algunas compras en el centro comercial Antea. La plaza es estéticamente preciosa tiene una gran arquitectura moderna. Cenamos en "Steak Company" y por favor pidan sus tacos de atún y chipotle, son los mejores que he probado en años. Éste lugar queda 100% recomendado, la música era muy buena, el servicio excelente, la comida deliciosa y el ambiente muy agradable.

Queretaro is a growing city full of restaurants, malls and things to do. We decided to get dinner at the "Steak Company" which is in Antea, an amazing modern mall full of my favorite shops. The architecture is so aesthetically pleasing, and so well designed. But about the food, if you do get to eat in this place please order the chipotle tuna tacos, they are the best fish tacos I've had in so long. I completely recommend this place, the service, the music, the food, everything was more than great. I actually wanna go back right now.
En las mañanas el centro es el mejor lugar para ir a pasear y desayunar. Poco a poco lo han remodelado y cada vez está más bonito. Tiene cafeterías, restaurante y los nuevos famosos hoteles boutique con pequeñas tiendas y pocas habitaciones. Próxima vez quiero quedarme en uno de ellos.

And just a fun fact, mornings are the best to walk around downtown. It is really pretty, full of stores, boutique hotels and coffee shops. Great for a morning walk and a bit of instagrammable spots (like this pink wall).
Next day: San Miguel
Y ahora a uno de los lugares más visitados en México: San Miguel de Allende. Es el lugar preferido de muchos para ir a pasear y tomarse algo. Está a 45 minutos (aproximadamente) en coche desde Querétaro. Las calles son coloridas, hay muchos restaurantes y cafés con terrazas muy a gusto y el máximo atractivo es la parroquia de San Miguel de Arcángel. La fachada en un sueño, llena de detalles. Por lo que este lugar es el emblema del pueblito, es el spot donde más fotos se toma la gente, nadie se va de San Miguel sin su foto frente a esta parroquia.
El mejor restaurante que he visitado ahí es "Rosewood". No voy a mentir, el servicio es algo lento pero la comida es deliciosa y todos los platillos son muy bastos. La comida es mexicana pero con un toque "fancy". Los precios son algo elevados ya que es uno de los mejores lugares en todo San Miguel pero vale totalmente lo que pagas.
Ojalá tengan la oportunidad de hacer este recorrido o visitar alguno de los lugares que mencioné.

And now let's talk about one of the most touristic places in Mexico: San Miguel de Allende. This little town is great for walking around, doing some local shopping and grabbing a bite. It's 45 minutes away from Queretaro by car.
It is well known for its colorful vibes and of course for the amazing parish it has. I'm not even going try to explain how pretty and well designed it is, you can judge by the pictures.
I suggest you visit "Rosewood" restaurant, the food is delicious but a bit expensive because it's sort of a fancy place. I won't lie I had one of the best guacamoles I've ever tried in my life so definitely go check it out.
