Para este post les voy a contar todo lo que necesitan saber para visitar Malinalco que es uno de los 121 pueblos mágicos que tiene México. Éste se encuentra en el Estado de México a 1 hr en carro de la Ciudad de México. Malinalco es un pueblito colorido ideal para ir a caminar, comer rico, comprar artesanías y comer un helado. Lleven efectivo para comprar sus artesanías y su cámara, que cada esquina es fotogénica.
¿Qué hacer?
–Subir a la pirámide
En el corazón del pueblo quedan las ruinas de una pirámide y templos mexicas en la punta de un cerro. La entrada cuesta $50 y si tienes credencial de estudiante es gratuito. Para llegar a la pirámide hay que subir el cerro, que es una caminata bastante sencilla. Tardarás a lo mucho 15 minutos en subir a la cima y todo el camino son escalones bien construidos. Lo mejor es subir temprano para evitar multitudes y el sol de medio día.

Su iglesia está cerrada por daños desde el temblor, pero el convento de los frailes está abierto para visitas y es ahí donde se han seguido todas las actividades parroquiales. Lo bonito de este convento son sus murales, éstos fueron pintados por indígenas que estaban siendo evangelizados por frailes. Las pinturas estás repletas de imágenes de la flora y fauna de la región y todos los pigmentos que se utilizaron fueron sacados de quemar vegetales.
–Comprar artesanías
Malinalco se caracteriza por ser un pueblo donde hay muchísimas artesanías a precios justos. Quien me conoce sabe que soy muy fan de comprar decoraciones y piezas hechas en México, entonces este tipo de lugares me parecen el paraíso. Las artesanías típicas de Malinalco son los colibríes de madera, canastas de palma, joyería artesanal, aceites esenciales, atrapa sueños y muchas cosas más que vale la pena conocer.
¿Qué comer?
Cerca del pueblo de Malinalco hay muchos lugares donde pescar truchas entonces no pueden dejar de comer una trucha. Nosotros comimos en "Las Palomas". Pedí las trucha al limón y estaba deliciosa.
Los helados "Malinalli" son típicos de aquí y son de los mejores que he probado en mi vida. Si van pidan de mamey y de cajeta, son tan buenos que cuando fui, ya se habían terminado.
La kombucha se está poniendo muy de moda en México, lo cual me da mucha alegría porque me encanta y tiene excelentes beneficios para la salud, así que si encuentran algún lugar que venda kombucha, pruébenla.
Hay muchos restaurantes, panaderías y tiendas de helados en el pueblito, vayan entrando a conocer, y prueben de todo. Yo me encontré una panadería estilo francesa y me comí una tartita de manzana deliciosa. La decoración y terrazas de los lugares también es muy agradable, entren a conocer cada local, vale la pena.

For this post, I will tell you everything you need to know to visit Malinalco which is one of the 121 magical towns that Mexico has. Malinalco is located in the State of Mexico at 1 hr by car from Mexico City. This charming place is a colorful town ideal for walking, eating, buying crafts and having an ice cream. Bring cash to buy your crafts and your camera, because every corner is photogenic.
What to do? –Hike to the pyramid In the heart of the town are the ruins of a pyramid and Mexican temples at the tip of a hill. Admission is 50 pesos and if you have a student ID it is free. To get to the pyramid you have to climb the hill, which is a fairly simple hike. It will take you 15 minutes to hike to the top and all the way are well-built steps. It is best to climb early to avoid crowds and the midday sun.
–See the Augustinian Convent of Malinalco Its church is closed for damage since the earthquake, but the convent of the friars is open for visits and that is where all activities have been followed. The beauty of this convent is its murals, these were painted by indigenous people who were being evangelized by friars. The paintings are full of images of the flora and fauna of the region and all the pigments that were used were taken from the ashes of burning vegetables.
-Buy crafts Malinalco is characterized by being a town where there are many crafts at fair prices. Who knows me knows that I am a big fan of buying decorations and pieces made in Mexico, so these places seem like paradise to me. Malinalco's typical handmade crafts are wooden hummingbirds, palm baskets, handmade jewelry, essential oils, dream catchers and many more things worth knowing.
What to eat? Near the town of Malinalco, there are many places to fish for "truchas" so you can't stop eating one. We ate at "Las Palomas". I ordered the lemon trucha and it was delicious. The "Malinalli" ice creams are typical from here and are one of the best ice cream places I've known in my life. If you get to go ask for mamey and cajeta, they are so good that when I went, they had run out of these two flavors. Kombucha is becoming very fashionable in Mexico, which gives me a lot of joy because I love it and it has excellent health benefits, so if you find any place that sells kombucha, try it.
There are many restaurants, bakeries and ice cream shops in the town, get to know them and try everything. I found a French-style bakery and ate a delicious apple pie. The decoration and terraces of these places are also very nice, get to know each place, it is worth it.
